CPA Tutor Job Packages

Why Add Tutor Packages

The ability to create different levels of services for your buyers is the most powerful feature of CPA Tutor Boost.

Instead of just offering a flat rate for your tutoring services, you can get creative and offer different levels of support at different price points.

It’s a great way to build trust with your customers by offering a lower priced service.

Then once they get comfortable working with you then they will want/trust you to provide higher priced services.

How To Price Your Packages

If you are a CPA candidate, we recommend that you price your services around $10-20/hour.

If you are a licensed CPA/accounting professional, we recommend that you price your services around $20-40/hour.

If you are an accounting professor, we recommend that you price your services around $50-100/hour.

If you are a professional tutor, we recommend that you price your services around $50-100/hour.

Increasing Prices

The more ratings and the better reputation you earn on our platform is going to allow you to charge a more premium price for your services.

We recommend that you start on the lower end of the pricing structure until you can prove your tutoring talents.

Then once you have a stronger reputation you will have enough social proof to start charging a more premium price for your services.

Types Of Tutor Package Tiers

We recommend that you keep your package tiers as simple as possible.

For example, you could have a Basic, Premium & Pro level of tutoring packages.

Example of a Basic Tutoring Package would be:

1) Providing explanations for X# of questions in written form for $x.xx

Example of a Premium Tutoring Package would be:

1) Providing explanations for X# of questions in written form + include a video explanation for $x.xx

Example of Pro Tutoring Package would be:

1) Providing explanations for X# of questions in written form + having a 30 minute 1-on-1 video call to walkthrough the explanations for $x.xx.

This will allow a diversity of potential buyers to pick the level of tutoring that fits their specific need.

Extra Services To Offer

Why Add Extra Services

The goal of CPA Tutor Boost is to provide a place where buyers can purchase the exact level of tutoring that they need at the best price.

This is why having the ability to add Extra Services to your tutor jobs is so powerful!

When you combine your Tutor Packages with Extra Services you will maximize your revenue for each customer.

What Extra Services To Add

IDEA #1:

We highly recommend that you provide the ability to add additional questions as an Extra Service.

For example, if your Tutor Packages only cover 2 questions at a set price, then add an Extra Service to add 2 questions for $x.xx and another extra service of 5 questions for $x.xx etc…

This way you can capture as much revenue as possible and prevent the buyer from having to make multiple purchases.

IDEA #2:

Ability to follow up once you deliver your job.

Sometimes your explanations will open new questions after you answer the original question.

Adding the ability to ask follow up questions for $x.xx is a great way to earn more revenue up-front.

At the end of the day, be creative with what you offer and focus on delivering as much value to your customers as possible at an affordable price.

Chargebacks and seller protection

What is a chargeback?

A chargeback is a form of buyer protection provided by the issuing banks, which allows cardholders to file a complaint regarding the service they received or any fraudulent transactions made without their knowledge. The buyer’s credit card company informs CPA Tutor Boost of the chargeback and may also request more information, such as transaction information, proof of delivery, and proof of refund. CPA Tutor Boost has a specific timeframe in which it is obligated to respond to the credit card company with the requested information.

Main Chargeback Reasons

Fraud – This is when the cardholder reports that they did not make or authorize a transaction. This may happen when a credit card number is used without permission.

Service – The cardholder did not receive the service, or the service they received was not as described.

Am I responsible for the chargebacks filed against me (tutor)?

You are responsible for any service-related chargebacks. In this case, the funds will be deducted from your account. In cases where the service was provided in full to the buyer’s satisfaction, our Trust & Safety team will review and help resolve the issue in your favor. Please keep in mind we can’t guarantee a resolution in your favor. If the chargeback were resolved in your favor, the funds would be returned to your account, and it will not affect your cancellation rate.

Tutor Protection – Fraud Chargebacks

CPA Tutor Boost Has Your Back!

In cases where the service was provided in full, CPA Tutor Boost will protect you from fraud chargebacks. The funds will be added back to your account, and after seven days, you will be able to withdraw the funds. Most importantly, it will not affect your cancellation rate.

Note: The order is subject to a review by our Trust and Safety team

Tutor/Seller Fees

What are CPA Tutor Boost Tutor Fees?

CPA Tutor Boost’s mission is to provide the most affordable tutoring possible.

We do this by providing you with the ability to sell your tutoring services at whatever price you want to as many people as you can handle.

In order to stay in business we do have fees that we charge on each transaction.

First you need to consider this.

The most difficult part of tutoring is finding new tutoring clients. It’s a full-time job in and of itself.

At CPA Tutor Boost, we do all the heavy tutor client lifting for you so that you can focus doing what you do best which is tutoring!

No need to worry about posting all day on Linkedin or Social Media or direct messaging random people, we do all of this for you!

To afford all of our fees + day to day activities we charge the following fee:

20% Seller Fee

Example Breakdown:
Tutoring Job Sold:     $100
Tutor Keeps:                 $80 (80%)
CPA T.B. Keeps:           $20 (20%)

Before you ask. We don’t take the calculation of this fee lightly.

We hate unnecessary fees (just like you) and want you to earn the maximum amount of profit possible.

Our promise is that our 20% piece of your fee will be used to help you grow your tutoring business.

It also allows us to stay in business and helps you live your dream of being able to work and get paid anywhere you have internet!

Buyer Fees

What are CPA Tutor Boost Buyer Fees?

CPA Tutor Boost’s mission is to provide the most affordable tutoring possible.

We do this by providing you with the ability to buy tutoring at the micro-transaction level instead of spending hundreds of dollars upfront on tutoring you may or may not need.

In order to stay in business we do have fees that we charge on each transaction.

First you need to understand our expenses.

PayPal and Stripe charge us $0.30 per transaction + a 2.9% credit card processing fee.

Since the majority of our transactions are around $10-15 per transaction, these credit card fees add up very quickly.

To afford all of our fees + day to day activities we charge the following fees:

$1 Processing Fee for each transaction +
5% Administrative Fee of your total purchase

This means that if you purchase a job that is listed at $15 that your total expense will be $16.75 after fees.

This allows us to essentially break even on each transaction and pay our awesome staff that keep this amazing community running!

We know that you hate hidden fees (so do we!) but just remember that before CPA Tutor Boost existed… accountants were forced to buy a minimum of 4 hours of tutoring at $75-125/hour for quality tutoring!

We leveled the playing ground and our goal is to offer significantly more affordable tutoring as a fraction of the cost of what the old way of tutoring cost.

Sending Custom Offers

Why Custom Offers

Once a buyer hires you to do tutoring for them, it unlocks the ability to send them custom offers within your chat session with them.

This is a powerful feature because it makes it easy for them to contact you directly with a request and then for you to invoice them directly within the chat session.

There are two options.

1) You can send them a custom offer of a specific tutor job that you already have open.

2) You can send them a custom job offer with whatever price you agree upon. You will have to create a custom description for the work to be done to ensure that you both understand the work to be done.

How To Send A Custom Offer

Login to your account.

Head to the messaging tab and find the customer to send a custom offer or to Manage Sales > Completed Jobs > Organge Widget Setting Button > Regular Chat With [Customer]

Once the chat window is open, then click the “Send Offer” button.

Then you can either send one of your open jobs to the person, or select “Do Custom Offer.”

If custom offer, then select offer description, the offer price, and the # of days to deliver.

Buyer Refunds & Dispute Resolution

Refunds

Our CPA Tutor Boost guarantee is that every tutoring job purchased on our site will be completed as advertised or your money back.

As a tutor, this means that you must complete the work within a timely manner and as described.

We understand mistakes happen when providing your tutoring and expect you to work with any buyer to ensure that any issues/corrections are resolved timely.

As a buyer, if a tutor doesn’t complete your request then please work with the tutor first to resolve any issues first via chat.

If the tutor refuses to do so then you are able to deny their request to marking the job complete which will prevent payment from being released to your tutor.

However, if we review your dispute and find that the tutor did provide the work then we will reverse your refund request.

Please contact support@cpatutorboost.com before starting a dispute with a tutor.

Refund Period

Once a tutor job is marked complete you will have 14 days to request a refund.

Please review your deliverable to ensure it meets your expectations prior to marking the job as complete.

If an issue is found within 14 days of marking the job complete, first reach out to the tutor to resolve.

If the tutor refuses to resolve then please contact us at support@cpatutorboost.com with the reason you are asking for a refund.

Please include all the evidence and the work delivered so that we can assess the situation and work with the tutor to determine what action to take.

If we find that the tutor did provide the advertised work your refund will not be honored.

What Happens After A Refund

When a buyer refund is processed, your funds will automatically be returned to your digital wallet within your account.

Login to your account and head to the earnings tab and you will see a balance there.

You are able to use these funds for additional tutoring or if your balance exceeds $50 then you are able to withdraw the funds to your PayPal account.

If your balance is below $50 and you wish to withdraw everything then you are able to top-off your e-wallet and then withdraw everything.

How do I reject a tutor’s delivery? (Requesting revisions)

To reject a delivery:

Once logged into your account , click Shopping.

Click on the tutor job title to open the order.

Note: You can access your deliveries in several ways, such as within your dashboard, emails, or notifications.

Within the tutor job page, scroll down to find the chat message section. You will find the option to click either Deny or Accept to answer the question: Is This Job Completed?

If you are not pleased, click No to Reject the Delivery.  This will send the job back to the tutor.

Please send the tutor a message explaining WHY you rejected their work. Be detailed.

The tutor will then have an opportunity to revise their work.

How do I cancel a late order?

If a tutor is non-responsive or does not complete the work in the time frame advertised then please login to your account and go to the shopping tab and find your open job.

Click the mutual cancellation button in the chat section of your tutor job.

If the tutor still does not respond then please contact support@cpatutorboost.com and we will cancel and refund your order.

Leaving Tutor Ratings/Feedback

How To Leave Feedback

At CPA Tutor Boost, the ratings that our tutors receive are the lifeblood of our service.

We want good service to be rewarded and bad service to be rated properly.

After you mark a tutor job as delivered you will be redirected to a “leave a rating” page.

It’s a 5 star scale rating.

You will also be able to leave a note on the performance of the tutor for your job.

We highly recommend that you address the following three items in your review:

1) Communication with Tutor

2) Service as Described

3) Buy Again or Recommend the Tutor

This will give the feedback that other CPA candidates need to know in order to make an informed decision on hiring the tutor.

How To Earn 5 Star Ratings

As a tutor, the following should be focused on as you create your tutor jobs:

Thoroughly describing your service on your Tutor Job page. Make sure your title is clear, and your description explains the service you provide in detail.

Make use of the frequently asked questions section to provide answers to the most common issues and concerns.

Communicate with your Buyer clearly and concisely from the start of the order until the end.

If you make any mistakes in your tutor deliverables, take responsibility and fix the issues for the buyer.

Mutual Cancellations

How To Cancel An Order

We understand that sometime a job you purchase might not work out.

This is why we allow you and a tutor to mutually cancel a job.

We strong urge you to contact your tutor prior to purchasing a job to ensure that you are both on the same page.

If you must cancel a job, follow these steps.

Login to your account.

Head to the dashboard and find the open job that needs to be cancelled.

Click the request to mutually cancel button below the notes to buyer section.

This will send a request and email to the other party.

They must then approve to cancel the order.

They do have the right to deny your request and complete the work.

If this occurs please work it out with the other party before reaching out to support@cpatutorboost.com.

What Happens After Cancelling An Order

Once an order is cancelled then the buyers fee will be refunded to his/her digital wallet for use on a new tutoring job. Buyer also has the option to withdraw the funds to a paypal account of his/her liking.

NOTE: CPA Tutor Boost will not refund any fees ($1 processing fee or the 5% admin fee) if an order is cancelled. This is why it’s important to resolve these issues with each party and cancel only as a last resort.

Finding The Right Tutor

How To Find A Tutor On CPA Tutor Boost

Finding the right tutor at the right price is the ultimate goal of CPA Tutor Boost!

First step is to create a buyer account, click here if you don’t have one.

Next, login to your account

Then click the tutor jobs by category button in the site menu and then select the topic you need assistance in or select one of the popular tutor areas.

Pick Your Category

There are several different categories you can select to find a tutor for.

You can use this link to find the right category for your needs.

From there you can see a list of all available jobs.

What To Look For

Once you have selected your topic, it might be overwhelming with all the different job choices.

Focus on finding a tutor with good ratings, the skills you need him/her to have, a delivery time that fits your needs and of course a budget that fits your needs.

Tutors can offer a wide array of services as well. Be sure to reach each offering they provide and any upsells they offer.

Be sure to watch any videos they have posted and read reviews that have been posted.

Only verified CPA Tutor Boost buyers are able to leave reviews.

Anatomy Of A Job

Each job will have a:

1) Photo
2) Tutoring description explaining who would be a good fit for the tutoring and the services provided
3) Tutor Base Price/Packages with varying tutoring fees
4) May include a video you can watch of the tutor in action or introducing him/herself.

Delivery Days

A tutor will include an estimated # of days he/she expects to deliver your tutoring request.

To help you see how busy the tutor is, you can see how many jobs a tutor has in queue.

Be sure to contact the tutor before buying their service if they are available.

Your Budget Considerations

When hiring a tutor remember what you are buying.

You are buying time.

You don’t have time to research what you need them to perform for you. How much is your time worth?

If a tutor can save you an hour of work then that should be your budgeted hourly rate to look for!

Creating A Tutor Job

How To Create A Tutor Job

CPA Tutor Boost makes creating tutor jobs simple for you.

Login to your account

Then click the Post Tutor Job button in the site menu.

Job Title

The first step is to craft a Job Title.

This needs to be brief, to the point but also catchy so that it catches the attention of potential buyers.

Job Category

Next, pick your job category.

This will help buyers find your job faster. Make sure your job title matches the category you select.

Job Description

Next add a description of your Tutor Job.

This needs to be around 100-250 words on average.

Here’s a sample outline that we recommend that you follow

I. Ask Viewer if they are looking for the objective of your job

II. List the services you are willing to provide
  a. CPA Tutor Boost Chat Tutoring
  b. Loom Video Tutoring
  c. 1-on-1 Video Chat Tutoring
  d. etc…

III. What you don’t do

IV. Call to action for them to invest in your services

NOTE: Do not include your email address or links to any external websites. Your job will be deleted if we find that you have done this.

Buyer Notes

Next, add any notes to the buyer that they need to be aware of.

This won’t be visible on your public Tutor Job page.

Job Tags
Next, you can add visibility to your job by adding any tags that relate to your Tutor Job.

Please separate each tag with a comma.

Max Delivery Days

Next, please select a reasonable Max Days to Deliver.

Don’t oversell yourself here. If you fail to meet your delivery date you are setting yourself up for a bad review.

It’s always better to underpromise and over-deliver.

We recommend that a busy CPA candidate gives yourself 5 days to deliver.

You can also adjust this date by editing your job if you start to have multiple jobs backing up.

Feature Job

If you want extra visibility and want to supercharge your number of orders then you can feature your job on our site.

It’s a $15 fee that will feature your job for 30 days + any processing and admin fees.

Being featured will pin your job above any of the other non-featured jobs in the topic that you select for your job.

Tutor Skill Level

When creating a job, you need to be able to be clear about your skill level so that buyers can understand your level of support you can provide.

You can select multiple skill levels if they apply to your situation.

Be honest when making your selections.

Pricing Your Job

There are many ways to price your services on CPA Tutor Boost.

BASE PRICE

The most basic way is to set a “Base Price” for a single service you want to provide.

This is okay if you only want to provide one service but will make it difficult to upsell your customers on other ways you can help them.

TUTOR PACKAGES/TIERS

What we recommend you do is turn on our Tutor Packages feature.

This will allow you to offer tiered levels of service that you can charge varying rates for.

For example, if you setup a 3 tier service plan.

You could have a Basic, Premium & Pro level of tutoring packages.

EXTRA SERVICES

A great way to make more money per tutoring job is to add additional services to your job that are optional but provide additional value.

For example, you could have an optional service of providing follow up answers to any questions the Candidates has with your question explanations for $X.XX per follow up.

Click here to learn more about Extra Services

CUSTOM OFFERS

Once a job has been purchased you can still offer additional services to the buyer via your chat messages.

Click here to learn more about creating and sending custom offers via chat.

How To Setup A Tutor Package

When you turn on tutor packages you can add as many as 3 tiers to your packages offered.

Name Each Package

First name your package tiers. Keep them short and to the point.

Basic, Premium, and Pro are great names but be creative!

Price Each Package

Next, set the price you are willing to offer for each package tier.

Start low and work your way up the more services you offer.

Delivery Date

Next, add the number of days you anticipate it will take you to deliver on the tutor job.

Again, underpromise and overdeliver is key here to keep your ratings high.

Also consider the level of service you are providing. Some will take longer than others.

Package Description

Provide a brief description of what service you WILL be providing with this tier of service.

Adding Images To Your Job

We highly recommend that you upload an image to your job.

It will help you catch the attention of buyers.

It doesn’t have to be fancy. A picture of yourself always makes things much more personable.

Canva.com is a free photo editing software that you can use to upload images to your job.

Please use .jpeg, .jpg or .png file formats when uploading your images.

Adding Videos To Your Job

We highly recommend that you YouTube video to your job.

This video should be around 30-60 seconds long and introducing yourself to your potential buyers.

If you plan to offer 1-on-1 video tutoring then this is a great way for folks to connect with you and meet you “digitally” first before hiring you.

All you need is a free YouTube.com account and the url from the video that you want to upload.

To get the url, right click on your video and select “Copy Video URL”

Then paste it into your job’s video link section.

Posting Your Job

Once you have completed all the steps above, just click the “next step” button below the video links section and your job will be live!

Happy selling!

CPA Tutor Boost Community Standards & Honor Code

Introduction

We’re cultivating a space for accountants who want to play a part in changing the accounting industry by passing on our collective knowledge and understanding of accounting topics and concepts to the next generation of accountants at a price that is affordable to all.

We’re working to build an international community of tutors who use CPA Tutor Boost everyday to help accountants around the world become better accountants.

We’re inspired by each and every one of our tutors and the positive change they are helping to make in the world.

In order to maintain this vision, we do have an honor code that we want all users of CPA Tutor Boost to follow, including our tutors and CPA Candidates/accountants/buyers.

Community Standards

We have very straightforward community standards at CPA Tutor Boost.

Treat everyone as you would like them to treat you.

This includes:

1) Not misrepresenting yourself in any way.

2) Do not mislead anyone in anyway.

3) Do not provide any unethical services.

4) Do not spam users via our chat messaging.

5) Refrain from sending ANY hate speech via our platform.

6) Do not discriminate.

7) Do not use our messaging platform to send any Explicit Content

8) Our content is all User Generated Content (UGC) but this does not allow you to send or submit any copyrighted material via our platform. Do not violate any intellectual property laws when interacting with any user on our platform.

Honor Code

As part of the CPA Tutor Boost community we expect that everyone use our platform for tutoring, learning or any other proper purpose.

CPA Tutor Boost is NOT to be used in anyway for academic dishonesty by buyers or tutors on our platform. The AICPA, NASBA and/or your school or university will hold you to a high academic code and a high ethical standard.

This should be followed at all times and be shared with your tutor if necessary.

Regardless, buyers on this site should not be using this platform to copy answers or to get final answers to questions or problems without knowing how to determine the correct answer.

CPA Tutor Boost is designed to assist you in your learning process, but not in lieu of the learning process.

Tutors also need to understand this and respect academic integrity. Tutoring and instruction should be a complement to the learning process and not replace it entirely. Tutors should not complete assignments, take tests, allow or assist in plagarism, or engage in any other form of dishonesty that may violate the academic code of the school the student attends or otherwise misrepresent the buyer’s work or academic ability.

The bottom line: Do not use CPA Tutor Boost as a way to cheat because you will only be cheating yourself.

While CPA Tutor Boost is not in a position to enforce or monitor compliance with it’s Honor Code, it is incumbent on all of the users of the platform to do so themselves and to prevent others from violating the honor code. Please report any violations that you observe to us at support@cpatutorboost.com.

CPA Tutor Boost has the right to remove access to any individual found to be violating our terms of service, honor code or community standards.

Bidding On A Tutor Request

What Is A Tutor Request?

tutor request is when a buyer doesn’t see a job that fits his/hers needs and wants to have tutors bid on their project.

This is a great way to find work when no one is buying your jobs and a great way to earn ratings when you are brand new to CPA Tutor Boost.

How To Bid On A Tutor Request?

Head to this link to see a list of all the available requests that have not been filled.

Click the “Let’s See” button for any job that you want to bid on.

Look at the budget for the tutor request and then make your best offering.

This will trigger an offer received notification for the buyer.

He/she will review all offers received and go with the offer that fits best for him/her.

Your best bet of being picked is based on 3 things:

1) Your Tutor rating
2) The budget you proposed
3) The delivery time you proposed

Provide the best possible bid that you can and use delivery time as your bargaining chip to justify a higher price if necessary.

Adding Videos To Your Tutor Jobs

Why Add Video

Adding videos to your tutor jobs is going to increase your odds of being hired.

First, it’s going to give potential buyers to get to know you.

Second, it’s a great way to showcase your previous work.

What Videos To Add

INTRODUCTION VIDEO:

The first video you want to add is going to be your personal introduction video.

It doesn’t have to be fancy, just find a quiet space and shoot a selfie video with your phone.

Introduce yourself, explain why you decided to become a tutor, share a bit about your skills and expertise and why you will make a good fit for them to hire you.

SAMPLE TUTORING VIDEOS:

The next video(s) you want to add to your job are some sample Loom.com videos of your previous work.

If you don’t have any previous videos you can always create your own question and answer explanation video.

This video will prove that you can tutor and give a solid explanation to any question that is thrown your way!

How To Add A Video To Your Job

All you need is a free YouTube.com account and the url from the video that you want to upload.

To get the url, right click on your video and select “Copy Video URL”

Then paste it into your job’s video link section.

Accepting A Tutor Request

What Is A Tutor Request?

tutor request is when a buyer doesn’t see a job that fits his/hers needs and wants to have tutors bid on their project.

This is a great way for tutors to find work when no one is buying their jobs and a great way for buyers to get the best possible price for their tutoring needs if time isn’t important or their budget is tight.

How To Accept A Tutor Request?

To pick a bid once you have a couple of offers you can head to your account.

Go to the tutor requests tab > My Received Offers

There you will see a list of CPA Tutor Boost users who have submitted bids.

You can compare the user ratings, pricing and max delivery times proposed and also contact the tutor directly with further questions.

When determining which tutor bid to pick, we recommend that you focus on three different factors:

1) Tutor rating
2) The pricing proposed
3) The delivery time proposed

If this is a complex project then you want to look at the tutor rating and go with a tutor who has a strong rating for providing quality work.

If time is important to you then it’s worth accepting a bid that is a bit higher than your budget if it’s going to be completed faster.

If time isn’t important then you can make your decision based on pricing.
